Arise News - Janet Craven
Dear friends,
Many of you may already have heard the sad news that our dear friend Dr Janet Craven from Dublin passed away on November 16th. I only found out when my Christmas card to her was returned the other day.
Janet was a wonderful Christian lady who spent 33 years serving others in hospitals in Tanzania, often being the only doctor for miles around. When she returned to Ireland and heard about our Cromwell reconciliation walk in 2002, she was so moved that she contacted me to ask if I would like her to gather people to pray for us. That was the beginning of a long and very special friendship.
She not only kept her promise of prayer, but over the years she connected us with so many people from all walks of life - Church and Civic leaders, Archbishops, radio presenters and many more. Everyone knew this humble, gentle lady, and she will be greatly missed. “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
The last time Janet contacted me was to tell me about a service in Kildare to rededicate a memorial plaque commemorating those sent to Barbados in 1655. If you have any connections, please let us know. We have tried, but nothing has come through so far.
It would be a lovely way to honour this dear lady one last time.

Until we meet again.
