Growing Partnerships and New Opportunities in Heritage Week

Dear Friends,

First, a huge thank you for your prayers and for the help of our dear friend and colleague Liam O'Sullivan who made what follows possible.

A door opens in Kildare

Shortly after our visit in May, I received an invitation to return to Kildare Cathedral for a meeting with The Dean, the Very Revd Isobel Jackson, and Revd Philip McKinley. That conversation opened another door: they have invited me to speak during Heritage Week in August. More on that below.

A significant step in Wexford

Liam and I also had an important meeting at Johnstown Castle in Wexford, with Councillor Tom Ford, Fr Jim Finn, and our dear friends and prayer partners Stephen and Georgina Forbes. Wexford Council had already agreed to a memorial plaque honouring those who were killed during Cromwell's time. I wanted to make sure those deported were included, and they will be. Talks continue toward a wider gathering in Wexford, hopefully in Heritage Week and we would value your prayers for that process.

Heritage Week - come and join us

Two events are confirmed:

  • Tuesday 18th August - The Chamber, Naas Library and Cultural Centre, 6pm-8pm

  • Thursday 20th August - St Brigid's Cathedral, Kildare Town, 7pm-9pm

Much to be thankful for.

Much still to pray for.

God is able to do immeasurably more than we can even imagine.

Blessings, Shirley
